Troubled Tuesday is basically my complaint day to complain about all the troubles I have, which could range from what is happening on TV shows to who knows what.
- The kids did not have school again today. It was cancelled due to ice. It was really bad out, but now they will have school next Monday on President’s Day. I know S will have school on Monday I am still not sure about P.
- The kids both did their Valentine’s for their classes. P did great writing her name on all of them. She was able to do it in about 30 minutes which I thought was great for her just learning to write her name a few months ago. S on the other hand took over an hour to write his name and his classmates’ names. It is crazy how slow he is at getting stuff done. He does get it done and it is write it just takes forever.
- In S’s class they no longer do spelling test. His teacher told me that by third grade they should have the basic concepts down on how to spell words. Seriously??? S is so bad at spelling. Phonetically he is right but you definitely have to sound out a lot of his words when reading what he wrote. He wrote a small paragraph of about six sentences that had almost 30 words misspelled. No I am not exaggerating. I don’t know why they stop spelling test. My niece goes to a different school district and they also stopped testing spelling in third or fourth grade. I remember doing spelling at least through fourth if not longer.
- I have been working on breaking down our spending and bills for the past year so we can see exactly where, when, and how money is spent between B and me. I have all the data but to compile it the way I want is taking forever.
