BizPal Handheld Wired Barcode Scanner Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

I always thought having a scanner when I was younger would be fun to play with.  We could scan barcodes and play grocery store.  When I plugged the scanner into my USB port on my computer I was not disappointed.  It made a beeping noise when I scanned and showed a red line, too.  The kids were excited when they saw me using the scanner and each wanted to try it.

Having no idea how this was going to work I simply opened an Excel spreadsheet and started scanning random UPC barcodes.  Much to my surprise it was logging each code I scanned.  I know that in order to use this for an inventory system I would have to figure out the coding necessary within Excel.  That is something entirely different.  If I did decide to use the scanner to keep track of everything I have bought it would take some work but the scanner would make it much faster than hand entering each number into a spreadsheet.

The scanner works with a USB cable that is included, no need to install any software or drivers.  The scanner is compatible with Windows, Mac, Android and Linus.  It works with Word, Excel, Novell, and all common software.
