I was given the opportunity to review a train toy box and jumped at it. Where was this 5-8 years ago when S was still just a baby/toddler? He needed a toy box for his bedroom and we found one but it never really matched the rest of his room. B made all of the furniture for his room. He made it all out of Baltic birch with a clear finish. We found a crib we really liked and B matched the furniture to that. When S got older and I was pregnant with P, B made him a loft bed so P could have the crib. B also made another dresser but we still didn’t have anything to match that could hold his stuff animals, dirty clothes, toys, or anything else he would want to use it for.

I saw this Baltic birch toy box and loved it. It comes in a train, whale, or elephant. The train was perfect. When I showed it to S he totally wanted it. Forget that he is going to be 10, he still loves trains as much now as he did when he was 2. When we got the toy box it came fully assembled which I was grateful for. I could immediately put it in S’s room and not have to wait for B to put it together. Sure, I could do it myself but it would not have been square. S decided for now he was going to use it as a laundry hamper. I am okay with that because he needed one and it fit perfectly under his window.

The Little Colorado company is located in Denver, CO, and all products are made in the USA. The furniture is made from wood, either Baltic birch plywood, knotty pine, and Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF). The Baltic birch plywood is a light color with a fine grain and contains multiple layers. The knotty pine resists warping and the pine has a nice grain that is easy to paint or varnish. MDF is made from recycled wood shavings and chips. This allows wood manufacturers to derive the greatest use from every tree. The wood fibers and scraps are fused together to create sheets. Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
