Thursday Treats

Thursday Treats is all about the best things I have had happen in the past week as far as good things, good foods, awesome finds at stores, great TV shows, etc.

I had every intention of writing this Wednesday night but I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch before 11pm (which is early for me).  I was going to write in all day today but ended up taking a nap when P did.  So here it is after midnight (technically Friday) and I am finally getting to it.

  • Wednesday night I was tired, and B was just plain exhausted.  It was 8pm and B was already asleep next to me on the couch.  P and S wanted a snack and were going to have some grapes.  When they looked in the fridge they both changed their minds and wanted leftover pizza.  Without asking for help or anything S got the pizza out, got plates out of the cabinet and got them each a piece of pizza.  Well P likes her pizza cut up so S got out the child safe knife (which really doesn’t cut anything) and the toddler fork for P and cut up her pizza for her.  They both ate there pizza and never once asked for help.  While sometimes S can be so frustrating when he doesn’t listen to us or is mean to his sister it is still amazing to see that he can be so sweet and nice all on his own.
  • I did it!  We started decorating the house on Wednesday!  P was beyond excited when she saw me bring a tub of decorations upstairs and she got to start putting out Christmas.  She has been asking for weeks if we could make a gingerbread house.  Well she got her wish, kind of.  This was enough to make her happy until we actually make a gingerbread house in a few weeks.

  • P and I went to the Maumee branch of the library today for “The Art of Mess.”  She got to play with all different kinds of mediums to paint/color with.  She actually had so much fun and the hour just flew by.

  • I was working on the kids Christmas lists so I am ready if someone asks what they want for Christmas.  P was easy, but S not so much.  We cannot come up with anything.  When I ask him, he keeps saying, “I can’t think of anything.”  After a while I told him, “You know you should be a happy that you can’t think of anything.  Because that means that you are happy with what you have and don’t want for anything.  That is something you should feel lucky about because most people can’t say that.”  It’s true how many people can say that they can’t think of anything that they want?

What good things have you been treated to you this week?

Although I do Thursday Treats, it is pretty similar to Jen at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom‘s Thursday Thoughts, so I am linking up with her today.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
