I wasn’t really sure what this portable door safety lock was going to be. When I opened the box and saw this I was still confused. B had to explain to me about how it works. The lock was designed to use while you are away from home. The lock can be used to assure safety by simply installing the lock.
To use the lock insert the locking tab into rectangular opening of striker plate attached to door frame. Squeeze lever located on inside of door lock’s hand grip until the stop bar is flush with the door lock. Close door and release lever. Stop bar will now prevent door from opening. To open, squeeze lever until stop bar is flush with door lock allowing door to open.
The directions seemed easy enough, so I decided to try it. I definitely could not figure out how to do it. I needed picture illustrations. Thankfully I had B there to help me and he installed it with a flick of the wrist. The door lock worked. I tried to open the door and could not, no matter how much I tried. I was able to squeeze the lever to unlock the safety lock and open the door.
