I thought while B was out on strike (hopefully not for long) I would talk about what is going on and how we have been affected by it in the past week.
Week 8
No end in sight!
I cannot believe it has already been two months of B being on strike. It seems like it was only yesterday and yet it seems like it has been going on for a year.
It looks like negotiations are not going so well. I think they only met like two days this week and are not making any headway. At least the other BP refinery on strike Whiting doesn’t seem to be making any headway either. When is B going to go back to work so we can just get back to normal? If only we knew it would make it so much easier. I guess this isn’t supposed to be easy though is it?
We went to the union hall last night for dinner and had pizza! I thought for sure since it was Good Friday it would be a fish fry, but was pleasantly surprised when B told me it was pizza. S asked if we could skip going to the union for Friday dinner. We told him no and that his friend would be there so he could talk Minecraft. Well that was all that needed to be said because he was sold on going to the union hall.
B went this week without me for our Strike Relief fund appointment for our next check. I had every intention of going with him, but it worked out better if he went by himself because he could go straight to work and not have to come back home which would have been out of the way.
I guess that is all for this week as far as how the strike is going. I was hoping it would be over before the Easter Target clearance started so I could go crazy. Guess I am going to have to refrain myself to $20 again. Maybe B will let me have $40!
