Saturday Strike

Saturday Strike

I thought while B was out on strike (hopefully not for long) I would talk about what is going on and how we have been affected by it in the past week.

Week 1

As far as negotiations go, it doesn’t look like much progress has been made.  (Or so we have been told.)  I have been on both sides of the table and know that unless you are in that room you really have no idea what is going on.  It is just a wait and see kind of game.

We made it through our first week of B being out on strike.  We have cut back around the house.  I cancelled all my subscriptions (currently it was ipsy and FabKids), and B cancelled Rhapsody.  I also made a few runs to stores this week to do some returns.  I got this really cute dress that I thought I was going to use for P for Easter, but I returned it.

I know I can find something else that is from one of my sisters, nieces, or B’s cousin.  Even though P doesn’t know it she is helping to make cut backs, too.

B is doing his best to try to find some work to help bring in some money. He has tried to put his handyman/building skills out there to get some work.   He put out a couple of feelers but hasn’t gotten any nibbles.    B even put a call into his old boss to see if he had any work.   If we only knew how long the strike was going to last it wouldn’t be so bad and we could plan.

I guess we will see how Week 2 goes.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
