I am not really particular when it comes to having fresh squeezed lemons or just using lemon juice that they sell in a bottle. So if I don’t need freshly squeezed lemons why in the world would I need this? Oranges!
S is obsessed with trying to make his own orange juice. When he was younger he asked me to peel an orange for him so he could drink the juice. He literally put a straw in the orange and tried to suck the juice out of it. Of course, it didn’t work, so he asked for the potato masher and commenced mashing the orange to try to get a little juice out of it. He got a little. Ever since then he has always been asking if he can squeeze some oranges to make his own orange juice.
This was perfect. It has a double squeeze for small and larger lemons. I think oranges are too big for this but the little clementine S got from his Halloween party was perfect. We cut it in half stuck on half in the bottom part of the lemon squeezer and S commenced squeezing the orange. A ton of juice came pouring out. When we couldn’t get any more juice we put the orange in the top half which is a little smaller and got even more juice. After we did both sides S was only too happy to drink all the juice right out of the bowl. He said it was good but a little too sweet.
The lemon squeezer also came with a zester. I have used other zesters (I think they were). The other zesters I have used were the same thing I have used to grate nuts or cinnamon sticks. With this zester is can actually make little lemon peel curlies.
