Pregnancy Update-20 Weeks

I thought I would do an update of where I am at 20 weeks pregnant.  I don’t think I will do a weekly update of this, but every 4 weeks until we are closer to the end.  I did a comparison of what I looked like when I was pregnant with S and when I am pregnant now.  I would say I am pretty much on track to be about the same size.

20 Week Pregnancy Comparison

So far this pregnancy, here are the changes:

  • I have only gained 4 lbs (I only gained 24.5 lbs with S).
  • I don’t really need to wear maternity pants, but it’s easier than using a rubber band to keep my regular jeans up.  At this point, the maternity pants are way to big on me.  I have not even thought about maternity shirts.
  • I had an ultrasound done at 17 weeks and was told it is a girl.  I have another ultrasound at the end of this week, and will update about the gender again.
  • Cravings-same as with S, lots of healthy food.  I do like to still eat candy, but sweet foods like cookies and cake do not even sound appealing.  When I eat something sweet like that the baby does not agree with it and makes me sick.  I really am not even that hungry.  But when I am hungry I can eat a ton.
  • With this pregnancy I have found a few things that have been able to keep the nausea away.  I stopped taking extra folic acid which made the nausea go away almost entirely.  If I do not get enough sleep I will be sick all day.  If I can get 9 hours of sleep I do not get sick.  I eat something before I go to bed, because that tends to be the worst time of day for me.
  • I have not felt the baby move yet.  I feel gas bubbles once in a while, but cannot be sure if it is the baby or actual gas bubbles.
  • S doesn’t really seem to care.  He knows there is a baby in my belly but that is about all he understands.
  • PJ has been very clingy. She follows me around non-stop.  I never have to worry about being along because she is always there.  If I go lay down in the bedroom she follows me and lays down on her bed.  When I take a shower she sits outside the door and waits.  Derby got like this when I was pregnant with S but not until much closer to the end.  Derby just wanted to lay on top of my stomach.

That’s it for now, I will be back in 4 weeks with another update!
