Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do. I haven’t done this in a few weeks so I added a few weeks to the Last Week Recaps. I didn’t fill in a few days because I wanted to get it posted, but am too tired to finish it tonight.

This Week

Monday-P starts Safety Town in the morning. After my workout I will come home and get her ready to go. She is excited to go. S has a friend coming over in the afternoon and then a baseball game after dinner.

Tuesday-Safety town in the morning. S has 4-H after dinner.

Wednesday-Safety town in the morning. It is A’s birthday so I am sure at some point we will do some kind of cake for him.

Thursday-Safety town in the morning and S has a game in the evening. There is also the farmer’s market that I am sure B will stop at.

Friday-Safety town in the morning. We are getting Little B for a few days and I am so excited to watch her. The plan is for P to have a sleepover in S’s bedroom so Little B can sleep in her room. If that doesn’t work out then Little B will sleep in my bedroom.

Saturday-As of now no plans for the weekend just hanging out and watching Little B

Sunday-Same thing as Saturday.

Last Week Recap-I worked out on Monday at home with a workout I created which is similar to the one I do at the gym. I worked out at the gym Tuesday-Saturday, and Sunday is a rest day.

Monday was Memorial Day so I worked out and then we went to the Memorial Day parade. It is one of the busiest parades, but also I love it. The rest of the day we hung out at home.

Tuesday we hung out at home during the day. The kids swam in the pool in the afternoon. After dinner S and I got ready to go to his night baseball game. P stayed home with Grandma G because it was going to be too late for her to be out. The game didn’t start till 8:15pm, which is their bedtime. S got on base twice by hitting.

Wednesday of course both kiddos got up super early. I worked with P and A on riding a 2-wheeler. They both could go for 3-4 ft. on their own but did not get the hang of it. I was sweating so much after I was done running back and forth with them.

Thursday P and I worked on her riding a 2-wheeler in the morning when I got home from working out. Afterward she played outside. It started raining on her and I let her jump on the trampoline while she got soaked. We hung out inside most of the afternoon because it rained.

Friday we hung out at home during the day I finished folding all the clothes only to have to start laundry again on Monday. The kids did get to swim for about an hour in the afternoon before we had to get ready for S’s baseball game.

Saturday we were supposed to do the Home Depot build, but P decided she didn’t want to make it and S went to the dump with B instead. I was going to open the pool up for the kids but as soon as we went to uncover it a cool breeze started and blew in storms that lasted all throughout the afternoon, evening, and night. We got some really good lightning storms.

Sunday was a leisurely day spent at home. I cleaned and organized P’s bedroom but I am sure she will destroy it by the end of the night. B worked on making the new fence outside, S helped B and played outside, and P went over to the neighbor’s to hang out.

Last Week-I am working out Tuesday through Saturday at the gym. They are closed on Monday.

Monday-The Memorial Day parade is in the morning. The rest of the day we are just hanging out at home.

Tuesday-It is supposed to be warm outside so I imagine the kids will swim during the day. S has a late night baseball game that starts at 8:15pm. It is going to be a seriously long day for me with a 7am workout.

Wednesday-That workout is going to be rough at 6:30am workout. The rest of the day we are just going to hang out at home. I am really hoping to try P at riding a 2-wheeler.

Thursday-We are just hanging out at home. I am going to try to work with P on riding a 2-wheeler, but it just depends on the weather.

Friday-We are hanging out at home during the day. S has a baseball game in the evening.

Saturday-The kids have a Home Depot build in the morning. The rest of the day we are hanging out at home, and B is going to work on the backyard. It is going to be warm enough for the kiddos to swim outside.

Sunday-It is only going to be a high of 66°, so no swimming but hopefully they will play outside and we can work on P riding a 2-wheeler.

Last Week Recap-Not noted every day but I worked our every morning Monday-Friday and took Saturday off.

Monday I took P to get her 5 Year Old pics at JCPenney’s. While I didn’t love the photographer we had the pictures came out okay. The rest of the day we hung out at home.

Tuesday P and I hung out at home during the day. After school S had his final soccer game. It was chilly so P and I bundled up. To top it all off it started sprinkling on us during the game. We made it through the game and then headed home. P and I used the Radio Flyer Wagon for our seats. It worked out well because the sun canopy worked nicely for an umbrella.

Wednesday P and I made the cookie dough before we had to leave for S’s baseball game. S had his second baseball game. There is a time limit of 2 hours but the catch is another inning cannot start after the 2 hour mark. We played for 2 hours and 35 minutes. It was 8:35pm when we finished. S didn’t get to bed until 10pm. For his last day of school he was gonna be super tired.

Thursday was S’s last day of school. P and I (really me she got bored after about 20 minutes) spent the afternoon and then some baking cookies. I was about 15 cookies short and had to make another batch of dough. That is when I realized my colossal mistake. When I was making the dough the recipe calls for 1 ½ cups of butter. When I made the first two batches of dough I used 1 ½ sticks of butter. A stick of butter is ½ cup, but a stick of Crisco is 1 cup.   I got the two confused because I use Crisco to make buttercream frosting. Anyways they definitely had a different taste between the doughs. The one with more butter was obviously better, but they both tasted okay so I did not remake the cookies I had already baked. Right around dinner time the kids got to go swimming for the first time this year. The pool started at 56° yesterday when we opened it to 89° today. A significant warm-up.

Friday was the first day of summer vacation. The kids had to get up and start there morning summer list of chores. There easy, S has to feed the dogs, get dressed, eat breakfast and take care of his dishes, and let Dinky outside. P has to go potty, brush her hair, eat breakfast and take care of her dish, and get dressed. Once they get this down I am going to add a weekly list where they have to do one or two things each day. I worked on decorating the 100+ pig cookies with royal icing and flooding them. I started about 2pm and finished around 10:30pm.

Saturday was super nice so the kids swam most of the afternoon until the rain started and then we were in the house for the rest of the night.

Sunday we just hung around the house.

Tuesday

Wednesday P had school in the morning and took a book with her to celebrate her birthday. The teacher read it to the class and then P donated it to the classroom library. She loved the crown that she got to wear all day. P also wore her unicorn dress to school.   After dinner we had a small birthday party for her in the backyard. It was just family and a few friends. The kids all had fun playing together, eating cupcakes and ice cream. P loves opening presents and loved everything that she got.

Thursday was a busy day. It was P’s actual 5th birthday. I got my haircut during the day and got 12-14in cut off.  We decided to go to Build A Bear when S got home from school but had to do it quick because S had baseball practice at 6:30pm. P picked out a unicorn and got the birthday bear to make at Build-A-Bear. We picked up pizza and did a quick birthday dinner for her before baseball. I also decorated a small cake to look like a unicorn for her cake. P got a ton of little stuff from us because that is what she wanted for her birthday.

Friday P had her end of the year program/graduation. They did an alphabet fashion show and then had a little graduation where they each received a diploma from the school principal. Afterward B and I took P to Hobby Lobby and she got to get a few new Princess pictures for her bedroom. B and I ended up finding a few items for the garage (aka metal signs). The rest of the day we ended up hanging out at home.

Saturday we played at home during the day. The kids and I ran to a different Hobby Lobby after dinner to check out the 75% clearance they had. S ended up getting some metal signs for his bedroom so he can redecorate it and make it less babyish/little boyish.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
