Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week.  Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans.  Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable.  I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week

Monday-S is off from school today because of MLK Day.  We are supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow during the day.  It better not result in a school cancellation for tomorrow.

Tuesday-It is a regular day around here.  There is no catechism this week for S but he does still have piano lessons.

Wednesday-P has storytime in the morning.  S got on pink (behavior chart) so we are celebrating by going to Dave & Buster’s.

Thursday-Today is definitely a Target day.  P and I will be heading over there possibly in the morning to check the toy clearance.  If we go in the morning and it didn’t go down we will be heading back again in the afternoon.  B is doing a work dinner so he will be home late.

Friday-P and I may be heading to Target if we didn’t make it on Thursday.  We are going out to eat with friends for dinner.  The kids will have a blast.

Saturday-We have no plans for the weekend so I am hopefully going to get a chance to work on some stuff for my sister’s baby shower.  We also want to go to Sandusky to see the huge ice hills/mountains that Lake Erie is making.  It is going to be a warmer weekend so this may be the only chance.

Sunday-If we went to Sandusky yesterday we will probably go to Grand Rapids and check out how the river is up by the dam.  There are no other plans for us.  B may run to Meijer to check on the toy clearance situation.  Depending on that could change our entire day.

Last Week Recap

Monday was S’s last day of Winter break.  We didn’t have anything planned but I was hoping to get him outside to play at some point and burn some energy.  When B got home from work we all went outside to play.  B got on the 4-wheeler to plow while the kids went and played on the snow hill that was made by the township plows.  They had a blast playing and sledding down the mini hill.  This is the first time P has got to sled even if it was a tiny hill since she was 8 months old.

Tuesday S got back in the grove and had school again.  He had catechism and piano lessons after school.  We also had homework to do afterward.

Wednesday S should definitely have had a school delay.  The entire driveway was one sheet of ice.  S’s bus was extremely late.  We finally got a text from the school saying the busses are running late.  Later in the day my sister was checking Facebook and saw that a Perrysburg school bus by my house got in an accident on the way to school.  She asked me his bus number and I didn’t know it because they are constantly changing his bus.  After I figured it out, it was in fact S’s bus.  I called the school and asked.  They told me it was his bus but since it was before he got on the bus they didn’t notify us.  I thought it was crappy because I thought all the parents should have been notified.  I had no idea when the accident occurred and it would have been nice to know that was why his bus was so much later then everyone else’s.  I don’t know I just thought it was really bad communication.

Thursday I had a meeting at church about S’s First Communion.  Afterward it was about 7:30pm and I decided to run to Target to check out the toy clearance.  Since B got the kids to bed with no problems I went to our Meijer to see if I could find any hidden Christmas clearance and found a ton plus some great deals on clearance toys.  I did so well at our Meijer that I ended up going to another one at 11pm at night.  It was amazing because the store was so quiet and dead and I loved it.

Friday it snowed and snowed.  S got school cancelled and we were stuck inside the house.  All day S was saying he was bored.  When B came home we decided to go to Meijer.  Of course S didn’t want to go anywhere and just wanted to stay home.  I bribed him with a slushy so we went even with the weather still being bad.  We didn’t find much but some is better than none.  When we got home B and S went outside to plow and shovel.

Saturday we hung out at home.  Not a whole heck of a lot was happening.

Sunday I went with my sister to do her baby registry.  Over 5 hours later I finally got back home.  S went down to his friend’s house and played outside even though it was pretty chilly.  Since S didn’t have school on Monday he did a late night run with me to CVS to see if we could find any 90% Christmas clearance.  Not a thing!

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
