I hate the feeling of mucky mud when I am walking in the water and would prefer to wear some type of shoe. These water shoes were very comfortable. The bottom sole is a plastic non-slip sole. The material on the shoe is a light-weight stretchy material. The water drained out of them quickly when I tested them so it did not add any weight to the shoes. I tested them in the bathtub since it is winter and the pool is closed. The shoes dried within 15 minutes of me wearing them after being in water. I thought that it was a very good drying time since it was inside the house with no air moving around.
