In case you were wondering, I’m still here. With it being the week before Christmas I have been so busy I haven’t had a chance to sit down and type at all. I know I am typing now, but I decided to give myself five minutes and let you know what I have been up to.
This week we have managed to make our Christmas cookies. It really only took one day and a few hours to do it. Now we have all these sugar cookies that still need to be frosted. My belly doesn’t care one way or the other and I have been eating them unfrosted. I am still hoping to make Christmas meringues. I was thinking Christmas trees, Santa hats, and maybe snowman. I saw on Pinterest where you use a Peppermint Hershey kiss and wrap it in meringue for an inside surprise. I might do that instead of a snowman and then it would help me out with my Influenster post. I also want to make peppermint cookies. Of course, I have to make apple pies (five this year). I make one for us, one for my mom’s house, two for B’s side and one for our neighbor. I know I want to make one more thing but haven’t figured out if I am going to do zucchini bread or something sweet. I usually give a box of baked goodies to all the neighbors.
Okay so that was food, now onto crafts. We made jars to hold gift cards for S’s teachers. Carefree Crafts came out with a Christmas package and S was all about it because it has a foam train in it. I ordered it three days ago and it came in the mail yesterday. I got some cups this summer in the Target Summer clearance and thought we could use them as our new plastic cups. B didn’t like the way the cups stack so we never used them. I thought they would be great to personalize them for all the kids and they could use them Christmas Eve. It’s a great idea so the kids will only use one cup and everyone will know which one is theirs. We have to make some crafts for the grandparents Christmas gifts. I just need to get S to sit down in the next few days and make them.
I am still working on the photobooks for the grandparents. They will not be here before Christmas. I have accepted that and it sucks. I am hoping to get this done today so that I can get it the day after Christmas. If they ran the one day shipping again then I could possibly get it Christmas Eve. Guess we will see. I just need to add some electronic embellishments to the book and have B read it to make sure there are no mistakes.
That is all the extras I have to do on top of the regular stuff that doesn’t stop because a holiday is approaching. I still have to fold the laundry, empty the dishwasher when B doesn’t, and the other stuff. We have to make a last minute run to Costco on Tuesday to get fruit, the kid’s pics from this month, and stuff B has on his lists. Of course, we can’t forget about P taking up 85% of my time. Last night she woke up at midnight and wouldn’t go back down until almost 3am.
