Hugo-One Step at a time

I was kindly sent a Kindle code for a free digital copy of Hugo the Happy Starfish-One Step at a Time.  I do not own a Kindle, but have downloaded the Kindle App for my Windows phone so that I can read e-books that are only available for Kindle.  This book is authored by Suzy Liebermann and published by Happy Language Kids, LLC.

When I told S we had a new book to read he was all about it, especially when he found out it was going to be on my phone.  When we opened the book up, S was already into it when they started talking about candy on the first page.  This book had no problem keeping S’s attention.  I am not sure he got the story, but there were trains, skiing, helicopters, and more to keep his eye on the story.

The book was all about commitment and never giving up.  I liked that the book was teaching values that are sometimes hard to teach children.  I kept reading the book waiting to see how Hugo was going to discover a chocolate mountain.  S kept asking if we were going to see the chocolate mountain yet.  Sadly, about three-fourths the way through the story forgot about the chocolate mountain and it turned into climbing to the top of the mountain.

By the end of the book, the only thing I could say was that was it?  As with the other Hugo the Happy Starfish book, I am not sure I would recommend this book, but will give it a few more chances and try to read it to S again.  To find out more information about Hugo the Happy Starfish visit their website, www.mystarfish.org.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
