Hugo the Starfish-Good Friends

I was kindly sent a Kindle code for a free digital copy of Hugo the Happy Starfish-Good Friends.  I do not own a Kindle, but have downloaded the Kindle App for my Windows phone so that I can read e-books that are only available for Kindle.  This book is authored by Suzy Liebermann and published by Happy Language Kids, LLC.

Hugo-Good Friends

When I told S we had a new book to read he was all about it, especially when he found out it was going to be on my phone.  The first thing S noticed was that this Hugo the starfish has six tentacles instead of the traditional five tentacles.  I liked the illustrations in the book.  I thought they were very colorful and really caught your eye.

The book was all about learning to like others that are different from you by using tolerance and realizing you can be friends with them.  I liked what the story taught, but it was a little wordy.  I was not in love with the story.  It was quite long and detailed.  This book lost S’s interest and I had to bring him back to the book a few times to finish it.

Overall, I am not sure I would recommend this book, but will give it a few more chances and try to read it to S again.  To find out more information about Hugo the Happy Starfish visit their website, www.mystarfish.org.
