The pictures are of my feet peeling, and is not for the queasy stomach.  Some pictures are gross! (You got your warning!)

I have always seen those commercials about how people have such rough feet and then go to really soft feet and wondered how they did that.  I tried so many things.  I would get special lotions for my feet to help soften them.  I got the Pedi Egg when that was big, and have recently tried battery operated foot exfoliators.  The lotions never really had any long-term effects.  I graduated from the Pedi Egg to the battery operated foot exfoliator.  Sure I would get a ton of dead skin off the bottom of my feet, but they never really got soft.

I had heard of many people trying the seven-day foot peel mask and having great results.  I decided to try it myself.  I got Pedi Pamper-7 day Foot Peeling Mask.  I didn’t really want to see my feet peeling in big sheets, but was willing to have that happen if I could have soft feet again.

Foot Mask

Day 1

I took my before pictures.  After I took a shower I opened the kit (which was only two plastic footies with liquid inside them).  I cut open the footies and put my feet in them.  It came with small strips of tape to secure the footie.  I had to try to get as much air out of the bag before I sealed it as tight as I could on my foot.  Once that was done, it says to put a pair of socks on over them and leave them on for 90 to 120 minutes.  I left them on for the full 120 minutes.  I had a small cut on my pinky toe and let me tell you how bad that burned.  I would not recommend using this if you have any small cuts or open wounds.  After the 120 minutes I made sure to wash my feet with soap and water and then I went to bed.

Day 2

No noticeable difference.  I did soak my feet for 10 minutes as recommended to help speed the process up.

Day 3

I didn’t notice any difference on the bottom of my feet, but the top of my feet were a totally different story.  There were spots where my skin was peeling away and it hurt.  I would say they are chemical burns.  I did soak my feet for 10 minutes before I noticed this on the top of my feet.

Day 4

No noticeable difference.  I again soaked my feet for 10 minutes.  The top of my feet were still sore and peeling, but not painful anymore.

Day 5

The bottoms of my feet were still not peeling but they are now looking like broken glass (best way to describe it).  My heels are starting to get rougher which I hope means they are going to start peeling soon.  I did soak them again for 10 minutes.

Day 6

I soaked my feet for 10 minutes and then noticed that my heels and toes were starting to peel.  I did help it along and use a towel to loosen any skin I could and rub off the big chunks of skin that were hanging off.

Day 7

I soaked my feet for 10 minutes and this is when it all started.  My feet were peeling like crazy.  I used a towel to rub off any skin that was loose.   It was like my whole foot was peeling off.  You can see there are only small patches left on my feet of old, dead skin.  Even every part of my toes was peeling.

Day 8

I soaked my feet one last time and got the last of the dead skin off my feet.  I could not believe how soft my feet were and now I just wondered how I was going to keep them that way.

After the Foot Peel was Done

I saw High Quality Moisturizing Socks before I ever even thought of doing the foot peel.  The heel has a gel coating that is on the interior of each sock.  When I put them on it reminds me of silicone.  It feels slippery when I walk with the socks on and feel like I could easily slip and fall.  I have not yet, thank goodness.

I got them and waited to try them until after I did the peel.  I thought this would be a good thing to try to see if it keeps my heels soft.  I have been using them at night for a week now and they are still just as soft as they were right after the peel was finished.  The socks don’t bother me when I sleep.  I am not a person that wears socks in bed, and these didn’t feel like socks because my toes were sticking out.

I think I have finally figured out how to keep my feet soft for those awesome summer months coming when I want to wear sandals and flip-flops every day.  I thought my feet would be super sensitive because the tough skin was gone but they aren’t.  I don’t notice a difference when I walk outside from before or now.  The Pedi Pamper-7 day Foot Peeling Mask is $14.00 on Amazon.com.  The Smoothe & Soothe High Quality Moisturizing Socks are $14.99 on Amazon.com.  I think this combo is the answer I have been looking for.  #footpeel
