Tiny Monk Rice Husk Fiber Utensil Set Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

I hate the idea of using plastic utensils and then throwing them out.  If I take food in reusable plastic containers then I should be able to take utensils that are reusable, too.  When I take plastic silverware they don’t always wash well in the dishwasher and some tend to melt or deform from the heat.

I found this Rice Husk Fiber Utensil Set that is perfect to reuse.  The set comes with a pair of chopsticks, knife, fork, 2 different size of spoons, 2 reusable straws, a straw cleaner, and a cloth carrying pouch.  The utensils can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand, and can go in the microwave for up to 3 minutes.  I am not sure why you would want to put them in the microwave but I thought I would mention it.  The straws cannot go in the microwave because they are metal.  The utensil set will replace my need to take plastic utensils and go more green.  When the utensils wear out after years of use, they will biodegrade within 90 days.

I wasn’t sure how I would like using the utensils but surprisingly I did. The knife what sharp enough to slice my apple for me. I wish the fork was four prong and had smaller prongs. It didn’t quite pick up food like a normal fork does for me. I liked that the carrying pouch was made of cloth so I could put the dirty utensils back in it. It nicely washed clean in the washer for me.
