Finner French Tip Acrylic Nail Set Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

I have never had acrylic nails before but have used press on nails when I was younger for special occasions.  I understand the concept behind how acrylic nails work, too, so I didn’t think this would be too difficult to figure out.  Guess I was wrong.  This kit came with acrylic nail tips but no glue or instruction on how they should go on.  So any do-it yourselfers you are on your own to figure this out.  I’m sure YouTube can help you figure it out.  I had so many questions when it came to gluing on the nails.

  • What kind of glue do I use?
  • Does some kind of gel or glue have to go to the bottom half of the nail so make it even?
  • Do I file the tip down where it attaches to the nail so it is a smooth transition from the real nail to the fake?
  • Should I cut, trim, or file the nails before I apply them because it may be harder to do after they are attached?

I am sure there are more questions I am not thinking of currently.  For testing purposes I fit a tip on my nail and then cut it down to a smaller size before it would be “applied.”

I then filed it the best I could to give it a smooth tip that would not have any small burrs on it or scratch anything.  The nail turned out okay but would definitely have to have a color polish on it to hide the scratches the file left on the acrylic.

Overall the tips are okay but I have to imagine you apply something to your entire nail so that you do not rip off the top half of your nail if the tips get caught on something.  It would have to be secured to the entire nail for the best outcome.

The Finner French Tip Nail Set comes with 500 half cover clear acrylic nail tips in 10 different sizes.   It also has included 4 nail files, nail clippers, nail brush, a cuticle trimmer and a cuticle pusher.  The nail clippers remind me of the nail trimmers I used for my dog!  The kit has everything you need to accomplish the task of getting long nails except for two very important things glue and detailed instructions.  If you already are a novice at putting nails on yourself then this kit is more than adequate to use.
