Let me just begin this with saying I have battled acne from the age of 12 till now age 40! I have tried so many different things, whether it be over the counter, prescription, or a skincare subscription, and it has never worked. I really never saw any improvements either or I would have stuck with it. I got a chance to review Acne Slayer Skincare and thought it is going to be another gimmick and not work either. Well it did and it didn’t.
Let’s Start with How It Worked! Successful!
I not only get acne on my face but also my chest and back. I know it can be a common thing when you are a teenager but not so much when you are an adult. It really can be embarrassing and I think it gets more embarrassing the older you get. I am not comfortable to wear a swimsuit in front of people because of my acne. I usually wear a t-shirt, tank tops, or cover-up of some sort around the water and only take it off when I get in the water. I try to stay away from others in the water so they can’t see the acne and as soon as I get out of the water I cover right back up again. I know my friends and husband have said that it’s not that bad and they don’t even notice it. I don’t think that is true if I can see it I know they can see it. Because of having acne all my life I also have tons of acne scars on my chest and back. I can’t see the ones on my back because really how easily can someone look closely at their own back. My chest is a whole other story. I can see every day the scars that I have and while others may not notice I do and am very self-conscious about this. I write all this and now my family and friends will probably notice it a ton more on me now because I am drawing attention to it!
I started using Acne Slayer Skincare about 1 week ago and have had really amazing results so far. I can’t believe it. Now granted it has only been a week but the results speak for themselves and I am hoping they continue. I only used it on half of my chest because I wanted to see if you could see huge results from one side to the other. In these two pictures you cannot really tell which side I used it on (the right side) but in the next set of pictures I think you can tell. You can see that my chest has some acne on it, is red, and the scarring is pronounced on Day 1. By Day 7 it has cleared up, the redness has gone away and the scarring seems to have faded as well. No it is not a change in the lighting or camera because I used the same camera every time, took the picture in the same mirror, and each picture at the same time of day. I didn’t touch-up the photos, put a filter on them or change the color saturation on them. This is how they look with no touch-ups or fixes.
Now on Day 3 I had a huge zit pop-up that was painful and super red. I did what you are not supposed to do and picked it because that is what I do, I pick. I didn’t want to do anything different from what I normally do. I cannot believe how fast it cleared up and has gone away. By Day 7 you can see all the redness and swelling has gone away and there is just a small spot left that is healing nicely (even though I did pick it!). This zit was on my left side which I was not using Acne Slayer on but I did use it on this spot because it was a great test. After 4 days it is almost completely gone. Normally I would probably have this for a week and still have it bothering me. Amazing and you can see how the left part of my chest is still a little darker and the scars more pronounce versus my right side.
My Daily Regimen
I have to say this was extremely easy to use the Acne Slayer Skincare. It is one bottle of liquid. Not something you have to wash your face with, or work up a good lather. I simple put some of the liquid on a cotton wipe and used it after my shower twice a day. That’s it. So easy. I did not like the scent of it but once it dried (which took about 30 seconds) the scent was gone. Really just wiping my chest with the Acne Slayer Skincare twice a day is so easy. About a minute of my time between doing it twice a day for clear skin a true winner in my book.
How it Didn’t Work for Me
I have very sensitive skin so a lot of stuff will burn and make my skin turn red when I put it on. I only wanted to put this on a part of my face in the event it did something to my skin. I had a zit that was huge (like the one I got on my chest) on my jawline and thought this would be a good place to test it. If anything happened it would just be on the side of my face at the bottom. I put it on using a cotton wipe after my shower and within 3 minutes it was as red as a tomato. It did tingle (not in a good way) after I put it on, but it said that may happen it just means it’s working. Where my skin had turned red you can very much see how I applied it in a rectangular shape only going half-way on my chin. It didn’t hurt, or feel like my skin was “sunburned” it was just red. I immediately washed it off with soap and water and went to sleep for the night. When I woke up the next morning the redness was gone and you would never know I had put anything on my face. I thought maybe it would only happen the first time I tried it so I did it again after my shower in the morning. My face turned red again. Not nearly as bad as the first time, but I didn’t want to take any chances and washed it off again.
While it has given me great results so far on my chest I am hesitant to use it on my entire face. I plan on continuing to use it on my chest for the next 3 months to see if it continues to keep my skin clear and looking healthier. If I make it past the 3 months then I will test it out on my face when I know I won’t be leaving the house for a few days in the event my whole face would turn red and not fade quickly. If it only ever works on my chest and potentially my back that is still a huge win for me! I will update at the 3-month mark to let you know how it has been working for me.
