S is becoming more independent and wants to start getting his breakfast by himself in the morning.  If he is eating waffles he will just get them from the freezer and toast them himself.  Getting a bowl of cereal is a little more complex.  I can get the bowl out for S or he could do it himself along with the cereal box.  Pouring the milk from the gallon jug is a little bit harder.  I think he could probably do it, but don’t want to take the chance of him spilling an entire gallon of milk all over the place.  I needed to find a small pitcher that I could prefill  for S so that he could feel empowered and get his own breakfast.

It is so hard to find a small pitcher that is not glass, ceramic, or some other type of breakable material.  I came across this pitcher and thought it would be the perfect size.  It holds just enough milk for one bowl of cereal.  I don’t have to worry about overfilling his bowl, or dealing with milk pitchers that are left out with milk still in them.  Every morning when S is done with his cereal he can put his bowl, spoon, and now milk pitcher in the sink when he is done.  If he wants to get his own breakfast in the morning he can certainly put his dishes in the sink when he is done.
