Troubled Tuesday is basically my complaint day to complain about all the troubles I have, which could range from what is happening on TV shows to who knows what.
- P seems to have gotten the same cold that S had a few weeks ago. She woke up with a fever and then a few days later started with the discharge in her eyes and it turned into a gnarly cold. Her fever was so weird. Her neck and armpits were super-hot, but her forehead and temples were normal. If I took her temperature on her forehead it was 98.4°, when I took it in her armpit it was 101.4°. Because her neck was so hot I took that temp too and it was 100.8°. It was the strangest thing that she had a temp in her armpit but not on her forehead.
- It was super-hot last week and we got a break over the weekend, but the temp is crawling right back up again to the high 80s, low 90s.
- I love to read in the summer. More so than I do in the winter. On average I read about a book a week. In the summer I usually read 2-3 a week. This summer I haven’t even been averaging 1 book a week. I am so tired that I fall asleep as soon as I get in bed and when we are outside I have to pay attention to exactly what P is doing there is no sitting to read while the kids play.
- I didn’t enter the Library Cake Decorating Contest this year. I just haven’t felt like decorating a cake this summer. S entered and I love the cake he made.
- I am so over B being on shutdown at work. It was supposed to be over at the end of July and now looks like it is going to go right up until S goes back to school in mid-August. I cannot wait until he doesn’t work 60+ hours a week.
- I started making S do a pack of cards a day to get back in the swing of things for school. He can do addition, subtraction, sight words I, or sight words II. He hates it, and honestly I don’t like doing them either. It is worse than trying to get him to do his homework.
