Saturday Strikes

Saturday Strike

I thought while B was out on strike (hopefully not for long) I would talk about what is going on and how we have been affected by it in the past week.

Week 14

Well another week passed and there was no communication from the union to us.  I can’t really say what is happening because we don’t know.

However, on this end, quite a few emails were sent out by union workers who were for and against going back to work.  The first email sent out was very well written, made valid points, and said what I have been saying and thinking all along.  If everyone would listen to what that email said this could have been over weeks/months ago.  Sadly some union members felt the need to respond and did so in a very immature and unprofessional manner.   When I say immature and unprofessional I mean there was so much profanity in the emails that I had to make sure B edited himself when reading the emails to me.  Of course the final email sent out was by the local union president saying they will send out more frequent emails and to stay strong.

That seems kind of hard when in the email it stated the union and company did not meet last week, are not meeting this week, and have no plans in the future to meet.  What!!!! Why are they not trying to do more to resolve this?  At this point it seems the company has the upper hand so of course they are not going to cave and set up meetings.  The union needs to make the initiative and get this thing settled.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
