B does all of the grilling in our family. I have no interest to touch or cook meat. I will toss the occasional brat or a premade pattie on the grill when B is at work but that is rare.
When B cooks chicken or veggies on the grill he always uses aluminum foil. I thought these grill mats could be our solution to replacing the aluminum foil. We have tried grill mats before and loved the way they work. B has found it is easier to pour the barbecue sauce right on the mat and baste the chicken in the sauce that way. These mats have really changed the way B cooks chicken on the grill. The chicken cooked evenly on the mat and did not get charred like it would of on the grill alone.
The great thing about these mats was they washed easily with a little soap and water. There was no intense scrubbing or soaking required. We weren’t throwing away aluminum foil after we used it and could be just a little greener around the house. We have continued to use them and now they are the first thing B grabs when it comes to grilling chicken or veggies. We have not touched the grilling aluminum foil since.
