I am not a fan of diet soda, but thought this could really be a great replacement to the traditional diet soda.  I love orange soda so when I found out this was made and flavored with orange juice I was all about it.  I guess l like the artificial orange flavor in soda better.  The orange flavor didn’t really come through.  After trying the soda again, I just couldn’t find the orange flavor. The ginger ale soda tasted like any other ginger ale once I got past the stevia taste.  The cola soda was a cola soda.  I am a fan of C*ke, and no one can ever measure up to it in my book.  Like I said at the beginning I am not a fan of diet soda, but if I was I think I would love all of these flavors.

With the lemon-lime soda, I decided to make a cake with it.  I heard you could take a can of lemon-lime flavored soda and any box of cake mix to make a cake.  I have heard it called a Sprite cake, but since I was using Veri Soda Lemon-Lime soda I guess I was making a “Veri Cake.”  Anyway I cooked it according to the directions on the box at 350° for 25 minutes.  I wondered if the cook times would be the same and they were.  The cake rose like it normally would.  Now how was it going to taste?  That was my biggest question.  It tasted like other “Sprite Cakes” I have had in the past.  I decided since I liked the cake and flavor I would go ahead and open another can and see if I liked the flavor of the soda.  Unfortunately, I cannot get past the stevia flavor in the soda.

After trying stevia many times and different ways I just do not like the taste of it.  While I do not mind the soda in the cake mix, I couldn’t convince myself to drink the rest of the cans of soda.  My mom is a big fan of stevia so she gladly took the extra cans of soda I had.  She tried each flavor for me and I got her opinion.  She liked the orange soda and said it had a definite citrus flavor to it more than what you would get in a traditional orange soda.   My mom is a die-hard P**si fan so she could not be persuaded to switch to the Veri Cola.  She said it was not a bad cola, but it was not her P**si.  The ginger ale and lemon-lime were excellent.

While I was not a wild fan of the sodas, my mom loved them and I may have convinced her to switch brands.  Now the exciting part for all of you.  I have been given 4 coupons to host a giveaway.  Four lucky winners will each win a coupon for one free 4-pack of Veri soda.
