Manic Monday

Big Shout Out!!! Happy Birthday Mom!  Happy 25th Anniversary, too!  Hope you guys are having a great time in Aruba!

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week.  Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans.  I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week

Monday-We will be spending the day in Cincinnati at one of the largest indoor train displays.  S is going to be in heaven.

Tuesday-As of right now we will just be hanging out at home recovering from our night away from home.

Wednesday-It looks like there are no plans so it will be another day at home.

Thursday-In the morning we will trick-or-treat at local businesses, head home for a break in the afternoon and then of course go for the big trick-or-treat pending the weather.  If it is raining we will not head out.  S could care less about the candy he just likes going out.  I am passing on Target today and will go tomorrow when Halloween will be 50% off.

Friday-I think today we will spend the day recovering from yesterday.  If I can I am going to try and talk B into setting up the Christmas tree and getting some decorations out.  Maybe we will start on that and finish over the weekend.  Of course we have to get out the turkey decorations pronto for Thanksgiving.  I think this year we may make turkeys out of apples.  Last year we made cupcakes look like turkeys.

Saturday-S and I are going to the monthly build at Home Depot.  This month we are building a small sail ship.  S is going to love building a boat.  I learned the hard way last month and we will not be painting this ship.  What a pain in the butt that was last month.  I ended up getting the paint on me because I was so worried about getting paint on S.

Sunday-Hopefully we can finish up decorating for Christmas and start to get into the spirit.  I cannot wait for the Christmas season.  I love the build-up more than the actual day.

Last Week Recap

Believe it or not for the beginning part of the week we stayed home and did not do a whole heck of a lot.  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we hung out around the house playing inside or out depending on the weather.

Thursday S and I went to his last zoo school for the month and learned about “Rats & Bats.”  He really liked touching the rat and thought it was just like his cousin’s hamster but with a tail. (Close enough!)  After class we headed to Target for our weekly shopping trip.  Later we went to Trunk-or-Treat at our local church and S had a blast walking around getting candy.

Friday B and S went over to B’s parents and worked on the garden over there harvesting the last of the pumpkins and gourds before he cleaned it up for the winter.  F (S’s cousin) came over at night and they had a blast playing together.

Saturday we went to a local funeral home that turns it into a Halloween event for kids.  If you bring a can of food to donate the kids get a pumpkin in return.  S was so happy to get a pumpkin and loved it that after the funeral home we went uptown to another Halloween event going on.  They had pumpkin carving, costume contest, and lots of games.  S had a blast.

Sunday we got up early and headed to Cincinnati.  We actually stopped in a town, Lebanon, on the way down to ride a train to a farm where you could pick pumpkins.  S had a blast.  It was a little chilly but so much fun.  Once we rode the train back we headed to our hotel for the night and S got to swim.

Last Week

Monday-There is a 90% chance of rain, so I don’t see us going anywhere.  I bet we just hang out most of the day and play inside.  Maybe I will get working on all those apples I need to cook and freeze.

Tuesday-Again no big plans, so probably just hanging out around the house all day.

Wednesday-No storytime today, but today is registration for the next session, so I have to make sure to register right at 9am to get a spot for S.

Thursday-I am taking S to zoo school today since B is working during the day today.  We are going to learn about Bats & Rats.  Awesome can’t wait! (Notice the sarcasm.)  This is also S’s last session for this zoo school.  If he likes it and wants to do it again we will sign him up for the November classes.

Friday-A few things could happen here.  I may get a last minute call from my hand surgeon and be told they can do my surgery today if that is the case then B will take S to do everything on Saturday and we will not be going to Cincinnati for a few weeks.  If not then we will probably hang out at home most of the day

Saturday-There is a Halloween function uptown that we are going to, and there is the annual get a pumpkin donate a can of food at a local funeral home.  It is pretty neat; they decorate a funeral home for Halloween.  No worries all the dead bodies are not out on display.

Sunday-We are thinking of going to Cincinnati for the night to check out this really cool train display center they have then either the zoo or aquarium on Monday.  S has been asking to go to a hotel so he can swim and this will be the perfect opportunity.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
