Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week.  Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans.  Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable.  I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week

Weekly Goal-I don’t really have any this week.  I am pretty on track when it comes to getting ready for Christmas.

Monday-We are just hanging out at home today.

Tuesday-I am going shopping with my dad for the kids’ presents in the morning.  S has catechism after school.

Wednesday-P and I are going to our weekly playdate.  I have a doctor appointment in the afternoon and they we are just going to be spending the night at home.

Thursday-As of right now we do not have any plans.

Friday-I am planning on making S’s cake.  It is going to be pretty easy this year because he wants a Lego cake.  Two block cakes, piece of cake!

Saturday-We are going to try to do something for S’s birthday.  I have left it up to B to figure it out.  If we are home in the afternoon I am going to try to make my niece’s play.

Sunday-Today is S’s 7th birthday.  We are going to have a small birthday party for him after P’s nap.

Last Wek Recap

I accomplished my goal from last week.  I got my cards ordered, addressed, and shipped out on December 1st.  I am so glad to have that off my plate.

Monday we ran to Costco to pick up the Christmas cards I ordered.  Unfortunately we missed P’s nap window and she stayed awake for over two hours in her bed.  She never cried so I just left her in there for some alone time.  It was nice outside we played outside after S got home from school.

Tuesday we hung out at home.  I made up a bunch of sugar cookie dough to bake either Wednesday or Thursday.

Wednesday P and I met another mom from our mom group and played at the park.  B helped his parents all day with their remodeling.  He came home before I left for my painting class.  I had a blast at the painting class and loved painting my Snoopy Christmas.

Thursday we hung out at home during the day and then after P woke up from her nap we started rolling out sugar cookies to bake.  After I made birthday candle cookies for Baby A (to take to preschool), I realized I needed a lot more dough and ended up making 3 more batches of cookie dough.  I made over 150 mini cookies, S’s birthday cookies for his class, and S’s Christmas party cookies for school.  These cookies freeze great so all I have to do is pull them out of the freezer the night before I want to decorate them.

Friday we hung out at home during the day.  After S got out of school we went over to Baby A’s and decorated cookies for him to take to preschool to celebrate his half birthday since he has a summer birthday.  After we went home we all ate dinner, and I started making royal icing Christmas decorations with the leftover icing.  I stopped when it was time to put the kids to bed and then went back to making more for a few more hours.  I am going to use these on the Christmas treats I make for Christmas Eve!

Saturday was a busy day for me.  The kids and I got up early went to Bath and Body works at 9:15am to get some candles and not have to wait in line.  We only waited 5 minutes in line.  I heard later in the day people were waiting for over an hour.  Ugh!  We then went to Target to try to find a gift for a birthday party S was invited too.  He didn’t find anything so on to the next store, Home Depot.  We had a build a Home Depot to make a gingerbread candy dish.  I let P decorate the gingerbread with stickers while S and I mad the dish.  We decided to take the other one home for S to build with B later.  The next stop was Lowe’s for another build.  Each child was going to make two wooden ornaments.  I made it easy and they each made one there and we brought the other pack home where they can each make the other ornament with B.  When we came home P and I hung out while B took S to a toy/train expedition.  After I put down for her nap I got ready to go to my nieces’ ballet recital of “The Nutcracker.”  When that was over I raced out of there to get home in time to take the kids to the Christmas parade downtown.  We made it in time for the beginning of the parade.  The funny thing is the parade was only about 10 minutes long.  After that we raced off to S’s birthday party.  Thankfully we only had to drop him off.  P and I went home to have dinner and hang out.  After we picked up S from the party we stopped over at B’s parents for a few minutes.  After that we went home and it was bedtime for everyone.

Sunday was a recovery day.  I planned on trying to work out after P went down for her nap.  That never happened and I ended up taking a nap instead.  I stayed in my jammies all day and never got dressed.  B and S ran some errands.

Last Week

Weekly Goal-I really want to get my Christmas cards ordered and possibly shipped out this week!

Monday-I am hoping to get my Christmas cards ordered.  First I have to make them on the computer with our holiday pictures.

Tuesday-I am hoping to make the sugar cookie dough for my Christmas cookies in hopes to bake them tomorrow!  S has catechism class in the evening and it is going to be around 60° so we are also going to spend as much time as we can outside.  Bi s going to work on winterizing outside getting all the toys put away.

Wednesday-B is going to work over at his parents so I am going to try to cook cut-out sugar cookies.  I have found these cookies freeze beautifully so I am going to freeze my Christmas cookies for another few weeks and then get them out to decorate them.

Thursday-We don’t have any plans so we are just going to hang out at home.  The elf will make his appearance today!

Friday-I am going to try to decorate birthday cookies with my neighbor for her son’s celebration at school.

Saturday-The kids have a build at Home Depot and Lowe’s in the morning.  My niece is in the Nutcracker and then S has a birthday party in the evening.  Phew it is going to be a busy day and B will only be around to be home while P takes her nap!

Sunday-I think we will just be hanging out at home.  It will probably be another day when we make another Christmas craft or even our gingerbread train!
