Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

Most of the week we hung out at home. After Kalahari it took us the rest of the week to recover. Every night we hung out at home. This is the week B worked nights so it was just the kiddos and me.

This Week

This Week Goals-I would like to get all the presents wrapped by Tuesday night. I have to pick up the basement before I can even think about wrapping presents.

Monday-S’s cousin has a birthday today so we may go and try to see her during the day.  Maybe a trip to Children’s Wonderland.

Tuesday-Hopefully S and I will finish wrapping presents while P is taking her nap during the day.  We may try to make some Christmas treats if S wants too.  He said he doesn’t want to make Christmas cookies this year. He does not have a sweet tooth like B and me.  If he had to choose between chocolate chip cookies or nothing he would pick nothing every time.

Wednesday-Today is baking day.   I have to make apple pies for Christmas Eve and my neighbor.  I am not one to give gifts to the neighbors but love to make them something for Christmas Eve.  B will have to make popcorn and his Cajun chicken dip so it is ready for tomorrow.  We will get everything ready as far as presents and so forth to take everywhere on Thursday.

Thursday-The kids will open there presents from us in the morning.  We have always done this since S was a baby.  By Christmas morning mine are so burnt out they don’t care what they get.  We are heading to my dad’s in the early afternoon, and then on to B’s family around dinner time.  It is a busy day and I have no idea how P is going to get her naps.  I wish she would fall asleep on me and she could sleep at my dad’s.  I think I am going to have to try to give her an early nap so she gets some type of nap.  If it is really bad I will take her home and give her a nap before we go to B’s side

Friday-B traded and is working today so he could have yesterday off.  The kids will get there one present from Santa in the morning and then we will save their stockings and presents from B’s parents until the evening when he gets home.  Since Santa only brings one big present for each (it’s too hard to fit more than one present for each child, so we give the kids the rest) he is not really missing that much.  S has never really been one to dig into his stocking.  A few years he has completely forgot until that evening.

Saturday-B is off so I am not sure what we will do.

Sunday-Same as yesterday, no plans.

Last Week Recap

Monday we woke up at Kalahari, had breakfast, played some games and headed home so S could make it to school in time.  Everyone was pretty tired so we lounged around the rest of the day.

Tuesday we didn’t really do anything and stayed home.

Wednesday we made sure to get all of S’s gifts done and sent to school for his teachers and bus drivers.

Thursday we got all the food and toys ready to be donated to the local breadbasket.  S was still excited about giving the toys away and hasn’t wished for them back.  (Which is good, no regrets.)

Friday S had school off so we hung out at home in the morning.  We went and did our annual Build-A-Bear build for S’s birthday.  He made the Grinch and asked if P could make Max.  It is not how it works, but we made an exception because they had a deal and Max was only $10.  With the way P has been lately it was another early to bed night.  This cold is kicking her butt.

Saturday we didn’t really have any plans so we hung out at home all day.  B let me get caught up on my sleep and I slept on and off from 9-2.  It was some much needed rest.

Sunday I went over to my dad’s with my sister and we wrapped presents for the grandkids.  B stayed home with the kids and as soon as I got home he pretty much ran for the hills and left.

Last Week

Weekly Goals-I am not setting any goals for this week.

Monday-We are coming home from Kalahari and recovering.  If S is not too tired then we will go to our neighbors and make ornaments before S goes to school.

Tuesday-We don’t have any plans and are just hanging out at home.

Wednesday-S has a dentist appointment in the morning.  I totally think the dentist is going to pull his one tooth.  He has three loose teeth and one is right there ready to fall out.  I am betting he will be missing a front tooth for Christmas!  It is also my niece’s and new brother-in-law’s birthday!

Thursday-S has his last day of school before his winter break.  They are also having his holiday party.

Friday-Today is the first day of Christmas break.  Two weeks of S being home all day with me!!!  I know I will be counting down the days until he goes back to school.  I am hoping to start wrapping presents today.  S likes to help me so I will get the basement organized this week and ready for Friday.  Today is my sister’s birthday!  We might go do S’s Build-A-Bear for his birthday.  We have to do it in the morning otherwise it is way too busy.

Saturday-As of right now we don’t have any plans.  The weekend before Christmas and the only thing on our list will be to wrap presents and maybe make some Christmas goodies!

Sunday-Another day of hanging out at home.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
