Love with Food July Review

I decided to try a new subscription box this month, Love with Food.  It only cost $2, so why not?  Maybe I would love all the snacks and the benefit is that for every box I buy, Love with Food, donates two meals.  When I got it in the mail I could not believe how tiny the box was.  I decided to take it over to my neighbors and have her try all of the food with me.

The theme for this month’s box was Fun on the Boardwalk.  Whether the beach is near or far, these seaside snacks will help ya beat the heat. I also donated two meals, and this month they went to Oklahoma food banks.

Hawaiian Salted Caramel Popcorn from Kukuruza-Pink sea salt adds surprising savoriness to buttery caramel in this handcrafted treat.  This tasted like any other caramel popcorn but a little saltier.  For me a little too salty when I expected a sweet popcorn.  My neighbor and B both like it.

BBQ Beef Stick from Vermont Smoke and Cure-Real beef raised without antibiotics and seasoned with sweet molasses and spicy peppers.  I do not like beef sticks, so my neighbor tried it.  It was only about two bites worth.  She said it was okay, but not her favorite.

Rebel Mary Peanuts from Lord Nut Levington-The classic flavor of Spicy Bloody Mary coats each delectably roasted peanut.  OMG, these peanuts had a serious kick to them.  I only ate one and that was enough.  When my neighbor tried it she said it tasted like it had wasabi or horseradish on it and did not go back for another.  B tried them when I got home and did not like them either.  My dad likes Bloody Mary’s and said the peanuts had a kick to them, but really liked them.

All Natural Orange Salt Water Taffy from Angel Mist-This old-fashioned fave is free of artificial colors and flavors.  This salt water taffy was really good.  It did have a fresh orange taste to it and did not taste artificial at all.  I could have eaten a ton of them, sadly I only got two and I ate one and my neighbor ate the other.

Snack Topping from Twangerz-Add a flavor kick to popcorn, fruit, grilled veggies, kebabs, and more!  I did not try these, but gave them to B.  He is going to take them to work and add them to popcorn to give it a different taste.  It’d be funnier if he did it and did not tell the guys at work and see what they say about the taste of the popcorn.

Handmade Sourdough Pretzels from Uncle Henry’s-Rolled by hand and baked in a stone hearth oven for authentic crunch and flavor.  These pretzels did really look like soft pretzels but were really hard.  The crunch in these pretzels was unbelievable.  They were too hard for me, but S totally finished the bag.

Strawberry Fig Bar from Nature’s Bakery-Figs and strawberries unite to make this all-natural snack.  I do not like this kind of thing, so my neighbor tried it.  She said it was okay and tasted like a grainy Fig Newton.  Yup, I don’t like Fig Newton’s so I am glad I did not try this.  B tried it and said it was okay.

Classic Candy Wafers from NECCO-A blast from the past, these colorful candies have been satisfying sweet tooths since 1847.  I did not even get to try these.  B loves them so much I just handed them right over to him and he gladly accepted them.  They went straight in his work bag to eat at work for a nice little snack.

Hello Fresh $25 Gift Card-Get a chef-designed recipes & all their exact ingredients so you can make fresh, healthy meals at home. And delivery is free.  I have seen reviews on HelloFresh.com and wanted to try them, but the lowest cost of a meal plan is $69.  So I am still spending $44 for three meals.  While that is a good price, I do not like a lot of the food choices they have and would end up wasting most of it.  Maybe I can trade this.
