Julep Maven May Review

[adsenseyu1]

When I got home from vacation there was Julep box waiting for me.  I was excited to open the box and see what was inside.

Julep Maven is a monthly subscription box to new colorful nail polishes and beauty products.  Julep offers full size nail polishes and full size beauty products.  When you go to their website you can take a quiz to find out what kind of maven you are.  When I took the quiz I was Classic with a Twist.  Funny thing is, that is what I picked for myself, too.

This is what Julep says “Becoming a Julep Maven gives you exclusive access to COLOR. Each month we hand-pick trendsetting new nail colors, cult faves and cutting-edge beauty products that are just right for you. Commitment shy? No problem. YOU decide how often to receive your Julep Maven box, and you can cancel at any time.”

When I opened the box, I have to say it was packaged so cute.  The nail polishes were securely packaged.  They had bubble wrap around them to ensure they would not get broken inside a pink bag with a cute black ribbon around it.

Drumroll…… My two nail polish colors were Myrtle and Zora.

Myrtle-Classic With a Twist ($14)-is a deep red polish described as ‘Flapper Red Crème’ that would look great on your hands or feet.  I, however, am strictly a French manicure on my toes only, and do not usually paint my nails.  So I think this color is right up my mom’s alley and she will love it on her toes this summer.

Zora-Classic With a Twist ($14)-is a light pink polish described as ‘Frosted Pink Pearl’ that I cannot wait to try on my next French manicure.  I think this color with give my French manicure the elegant touch I am looking for.

Glycolic Hand Scrub 3oz. ($23)- this “facial for hands” packs a 10% glycolic acid punch. Whisks away dirt and oil and reveals noticeably softer and younger looking hands after just one use.  I took a sneak peak at this scrub and it has quite a pleasant smell and feel and I cannot wait to give it a try.

One-Step Polish Remover Pad ($1*)-I hate when you can see chips in polished nails or toes, so this is perfect for me to take on vacations or weekend getaways.  I would rather have naked toes than chipped nail polish on them.  This will be perfect for those types of emergencies away from home.

Nail File ($2**)-who can’t use another nail file?  I go through them so fast.  I tend to file my nails down instead of cutting them and they grow so fast.

Classic with a Twist-You’re an iconic beauty with a timeless aesthetic. Get two limited-edition colors and one full-size beauty product in every box.  When I got an email saying I could have a free box from Julep Maven if I paid shipping of $3.99 I jumped at the chance. Use the code FREEBOX.  Every month they will send you an email on the 20th and you have until the 24th to decide what box you want or if you would like to skip that month.  The boxes ship on the 27th of every month.

This box totals at $54.00, not bad for only having to pay $3.99 for shipping.  I couldn’t even get a good bottle of nail polish for $4 at Target, and I got two polishes, a hand scrub, nail file and nail polish remover.  That is a pretty awesome deal.  Even at the regular $19.99/month this was still a great deal.  If you are interested in learning more about Julep Maven or subscribing for a box click here!  Don’t forget to use the code “FREEBOX” to get your first box free and just pay shipping $3.99.  With summer around the corner, now is the time to get the new nail polishes for the season.

*These are not sold individually, but a pack of 10 is $9.99 so I just divided the cost by 10.

**This is what I would pay for a nail file.
