Foto Friday-Halloween Recap

Foto (Photo) Friday is a show and tell of pics from the last week.  This week I am solely dedicating this to Halloween.  We did a bunch of different events to celebrate Halloween and I wanted to show everything we did.

  • Our first Halloween event was Trunk-or-Treating at our church.  The kids had a ton of fun and the weather was so nice we didn’t need jackets.

  • A local high school puts on a Halloween parade every year as part of there Deca program.  Every float has to be decorated in the theme for Halloween.  A lot of the kids wear there costumes to the parade.  P wore a Halloween shirt and S wore clothes (I got him out of his pjs.).  We got there early to get a good seat and S chased P up and down the sidewalk to pass the time.

  • Once P realized there was food in the bag she literally climbed into to try to get some.  Of course, it was all candy, so she couldn’t have any and had to settle for puffs.

  • We went with my aunt and uncle to visit a local pumpkin farm.  It was warm enough we didn’t need jackets but the rain kept threatening us.  We managed to finish our visit just before the rain came.  The kids had a ton of fun and we found out P can hang from monkey bars on her own.

  • We went trick-or-treating to businesses in a local community.  It is a great time to do it because it is from 3-5pm.  As soon as S got off the bus we were off.  Unfortunately, P refused to take her second nap and did not have that much fun.

  • S got to empty out his pumpkin and carve a face in it.  I did the knife work, but he did everything else.  P loved watching to see what was going on, but lost interest when I asked her if she wanted dinner.

  • Friday, the day before Halloween, we went trick-or-treating to our local businesses downtown after P took her morning nap and before S had to get on the bus for school.  They had a great time and managed to get their picture in the local paper.

  • S had his first Halloween costume parade at school.  P was so excited when she saw all the kids she ran out to look for S.  When she found him she ran up to him.  S was so excited to wave and be part of the parade.

  • We did a little decorating for Halloween.  S wanted to do more so Grandma G helped.  She brought pumpkins from her stash to dress up the yard and they colored gallon jugs with scary faces.  Friday night they filled the jugs with water and added food coloring along with a few glow sticks.  The driveway was lined in colored jugs that let of a glow to light the path.

  • I couldn’t get P to stand with S for a picture before we went trick-or-treating.  She was so happy to walk all on her own.  I didn’t even bother with the stroller.  S was a pro at running from house to house.

  • S was busy running from the house to the next but waited for his Cabo girlfriends to get their candy.  Once Ariel and Spiderman (Cabo girlfriends costumes) caught up they took off for the next house.
  • P was so happy to walk.  She did manage to walk to a few houses and stick her hand out for candy.  Talking not so much.  You got a hand asking for candy and a wave good-bye as she left.  I guess that was her please and thank you.

  • Sunday morning this is what they looked like. Both recovering from the week’s event.  B made both a smoothie when he woke up.  They both just sat there and sucked them down.  Doesn’t S look happy to get her picture taken!
