BarkBox June Review

This is now are second box of a 3 month subscription to BarkBox that I purchased on Fab.com

June Barkbox

June BarkBox

BarkBox is shipped USPS and arrived today.  The mail lady put the box by our back gate (where she normally does if it doesn’t fit in the mailbox), and the dogs were just standing there sniffing it through the fence.  I brought the box in, but had other things to attend to and could not open it right away.  It sat on the counter and the dogs kept coming back smelling the air and lying on the floor by it.  Something very fragrant must be in this box.

This month’s box says, Hooray, it’s June! Summer is finally here.  This month’s box is a puppy picnic basket, complete with food, drink, and even supplements to soothe firework-induced anxiety. Of course, everything is made right here in the USA!  Drinks you say, yup it really had a bottle included.  I loved that the back of the information card gave some information on each of the companies.  Here is what was included in the box:

Bowser Beer Beefy Brown Ale ($19.99/6-pack, $3.33/bottle) – Bowser beer brews up delicious broth with USDA beef – no flavorings, artificial color, onions, fat, salt, or MSG. In addition, malt barley is good for shiny coats and glucosamine aids in healthy joints. It comes in a 6-pack of 12 fl oz. plastic, recyclable bottles with tamper proof, re-sealable caps – non-breakable for safety and portability. Refrigerate after opening. All natural and 100% made and bottled in USA.  We only got one bottle and the serving size is one bottle for medium to large dogs, and half bottle for small dogs.  I decided to have a little dog party and invited the neighbor dog over to try the beer with mine.  Derby and PJ loved it and could not drink it up fast enough. Sophie not so much, she took a few licks and went on her way.  I am told when she went back in her house and started drinking water from the toilet.  So this dog beer is 2 out of 3 with dogs.  Neezer also sampled it and did not like it, so it was a no for cats.   I am not a beer drinker so even if I sampled this I have nothing to compare it to.  I asked the neighbors and B to try it and all declined.  Bummer, but it is for dogs.

Puptato Chips All Natural Sweet Potato Dog Treat ($4.99) – Puptato Chips are all natural sweet potato chips for dogs! Dried, not fried, these virtually fat free chips are healthy for dogs!  I asked S if he wanted to try one and he did.  At first he said he liked it, and then he said he didn’t and spit it out.   The dogs loved it and gobbled them up with no hesitations.

Dale Edgar Brand Calm K9 Nutri-wafers (7 wafers/$7.48 (based on price of 14/$14.95)) – Our Calm K9 Nutri-Wafers help reduce stresses incurred from traveling, grooming and during storms or loud noises like fireworks. They also help with dogs predisposed toward hyperactivity.  This sounds perfect for PJ, who is scared of everything.  When the next lightning storm or fireworks nearby happen she is definitely getting one of these.  They sell them in quantities of 14/$14.95, 28/$24.95, and 56/$39.95.  We got a box of 7 individually packaged wafers so pricing it out was difficult.

Whole Life Tail Mix Grilled Sirloin Burgers($3.58-1.2 oz. bag) ($6.29-2 oz. bag) –Pure mini beef sirloin burgers that have been grilled then freeze dried to perfection removing moisture while concentrating flavor, aroma and nutrition.  I gave one to each of the pooches and they loved them and were begging for more.  When I clicked on the buy button to find out the price it redirected me to another website, www.petfood direct.com.

Butcher Shoppe Hickory Smoked Beef Dog Bone ($6.29/similar products)-I am not a fan of these type of dog bones because of the mess, and PJ inhaling them in one bite.  Sometimes PJ will take her time eating them, other times not so much.  Derby and PJ do not like to eat their treats outside and always bring them back inside.  This treat specifically says do not use on carpets. (They do not have a website and I could not find the product online.)

All totaled this box came to $25.67.  Seeing as how I only paid $16.33 for the box with my deal through Fab.com, I would say I came out ahead.  If you sign up for a 6-month subscription it is only $18/month.  If you’re interested in subscribing to BarkBox or learning more just click here!  If you buy a box through my link you get $5 off your first box and I get one free!  Help my doggies continue to get more treats.
