July BarkBox

I got the box in the mail last Saturday from USPS.  The mail lady put the box in my mailbox (more like crammed it in).  I was excited to open this box, because I got an email saying that last month since so many were bummed about not getting toys that we would be getting a toy included every month from now on.

This month’s box is theme is summer in the sun, and features toys that are perfect  for the grandest lakeside excursions or poolside staycations, as well as products that work wonders after a quick visit to your freezer.  As always, we’re thrilled to feature wonderfully healthy, delicious treats that are fit for any summer menu.  Seasonal eating is certainly not limited to humans alone!  I loved that the back of the information card gave some information on each of the companies.

Here is what was included in the box:

Safemade Flexi-bowl ($4.99/small) – Made with the same child-friendly, food-grade silicone as Safemade’s toys.  This dish is freezer, dishwasher, and oven safe!  They recommend freezing water in the bowl overnight for maximum coolness at the park.  PJ loves to eat ice cubes, so this will be perfect to freeze some treats in water and then let him go to town on the giant paw print ice cube in the backyard.

R2R Pet Sprong ($4.99) – With a little squish and a lot of squeak, the Sprong is perfect for tossing, chewing, and chasing.  Its soft, velvet texture is delicate enough for pups and seniors, but it still has enough boing and bounce for active dogs.  PJ loves to play with toys, so I thought for sure she would love it, unfortunately, she ran from it and was afraid of it.  Derby, however, went after this toy and loved playing with it.

Mr. Barksmith’s Cool Treats All Natural Smoothies for Dogs-Peanut Butter($4.99) – Low calorie and made from fruit, these dog smoothies are also fortified with Omega 3 chia seed-great for joints and a healthy coat.  Pop them in the freezer if the hot weather is making your pooch pant, or let them eat as is if you’re on a summer raodtrip!  Derby loves these and would love to eat it all herself.  PJ has never had one so this was her first and she loved it.  We may have to look into getting more of these for both of them.

Max & Ruffy’s Natural Organic Treat’s for Dogs-Banana & Coconut flavor($5.25-5 oz. bag)–Hailing from Maryland, Max & Ruffy’s makes the perfect, healthy snack for summer.  Only the best organic, non-genetically modified fruit is used in their treats.  Every ingredient is human grade.  I couldn’t get a good snapshot of the treats but they look like cookie dough chocolate bites to me.  The way the pooches ate them, you would think that they were cookie dough.  Derby just inhaled them and forgot to chew.  These were a big hit!

NO Grainers Training Size Soft Chews-BBQ Chicken Flavor ($4.99-5 oz. bag)-No Grainers soft treats are made from American chicken and )as the name says) are grain free, wheat free, corn free, and soy free!  The dogs loved these.  The only thing these treats will be training is me on how to give them to the pooches without getting my fingers bit off because they liked them so much.  Another hit with the little ones.

Barkworthies Junior Bullies-Beef Bladder ($2.99-6 in.)  Made with 100% beef, Barkworthies bully sticks are a favorite.  Pups find them both long-lasting and delicious! No chemicals or preservatives are used, making them  a clear winner over other chews like rawhide.  S climbed up on a step ladder and got this treat down for the dogs and between the two of them someone ate it.  By the time I got out to the dogs the treat was gone.  Someone definitely enjoyed the treat.  I prefer to give the dogs rawhides because they keep the dogs busier longer.  I don’t think the pooches care either way they enjoy it all.
